The date of the 2011 Covenant of Mayors ceremony has just been confirmed: it is set to take place on 29 November in the premises of the European Parliament, Brussels.
The timing of the event is strategic, as it will coincide with the international negotiations on climate change - to be held in Durban (South Africa) from 28 November onwards - and will take place in the margins of the on-going debate on the EU Multi Annual Financial Framework, which is yet to determine the role of energy sustainability.
